Liverpool

Updated: Oct 13, 2024

Let's explore Liverpool in this post. Wondering how many days to spend, where to go, and where to eat?

If you're in the UK for a week with limited time, I suggest not spending too much time in these cities. Check out my one-week UK travel guide for more tips.

This trip take 4 days. If you're a football fan like me, you'll enjoy great matches in both cities. But remember, Liverpool FC tickets are pricey and hard to get. Good luck!

Now, let's explore what you can see in Liverpool:

The Lyver Pool sign:

Start your journey with the Lyver Pool sign, a popular landmark located in the heart of Liverpool. It's a great place to snap your first picture and kick off your city exploration. This sign not only marks your arrival in the city but also symbolizes the vibrant and welcoming spirit of Liverpool. So, get that perfect shot and then set off to discover the city's many charms and attractions.

Maritime Museum:          The Maritime Museum is the place to delve into the history of the Titanic. Liverpool, where the Titanic was registered and its managing company White Star Line was based, has deep connections to this infamous ship. The museum tells a compelling story of the Titanic, providing a unique perspective on its history. It's not just about the Titanic though, the museum also showcases Liverpool's rich maritime past, making it a fascinating visit for any history enthusiast.

The Beatles Statue The Beatles Statue is a must-see landmark in Liverpool. It's a tribute to the iconic band that originated in this city. Since you're in Liverpool, it would be a missed opportunity not to visit this symbol of the city's rich musical history. The statue not only offers a great photo opportunity but also serves as a reminder of The Beatles' incredible influence on global music.

The Wall of Fame - Mathew Street        The Wall of Fame on Mathew Street is a notable landmark in Liverpool. It's a tribute to the musicians who played at the renowned Cavern Club, including The Beatles. The street itself is famous for its vibrant nightlife, boasting a variety of charming bars.

Mathew Street and the Wall of Fame are important as they symbolize Liverpool's rich musical heritage. They're a testament to the city's influence on the world music scene, especially during the 1960s, and continue to be a hub for music lovers today. This makes them must-visit spots when in Liverpool.

Albert Dock is a must-visit spot in Liverpool. This historic dock is a symbol of Liverpool's significant maritime past. It was the first warehouse system in the world built entirely without wood, making it fireproof and revolutionary for its time. Today, it's a vibrant cultural hub, hosting the Merseyside Maritime Museum, The Beatles Story, and the International Slavery Museum. The Dock, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a lively mix of history, culture, and entertainment. Don't miss the chance to stroll along the waterfront, explore its attractions, and soak in its lively atmosphere.

I've visited Liverpool twice, and the second time was truly special. I got to witness Jurgen Klopp's final game as Liverpool's coach, a truly memorable experience. The photo accompanying this post was taken during that poignant moment as we all sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" together.

Even if there's no game scheduled when you visit, I highly recommend visiting the stadium. Take a tour of the changing rooms, sit in the stands, and just soak in the atmosphere. It's an experience that lets you feel the passion and history that fills this iconic football city.

Here is some of the graffitis you can take a pict of around the stadium. 1) Trent Alexander Arnold Mural 2) Roberto Firmino MURAL 3) JURGEN KLOPP Mural by MurWalls 4) IAN RUSH MURAL 5) Bill Shankly Mural by Paul Curtis 6) Mo Salah Mural Here is some of the locations you can also check: 1) Bold street good for restaurants.

This is where we ate in the bold street. Etci Mehmet 2) Royal Liver Building 360 Tour I didn't have a chance to go on top of this but you can see the city from top. 3) Liverpool Lime St Station If you have your luggage with you and you want to leave it to somewhere there is a location in the station you can leave your luggage safely.
